Boumediene v. Bush

From lawbrain.com

Boumediene v. Bush is a June 12, 2008 decision of the Supreme Court regarding a petition for a writ of habeas corpus filed on behalf of a prisoner at the detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. In a 5-4 decision, the Court determined that Guantanamo Bay prisoners had the right to petition for habeas corpus, and that the suspension of that right by the Military Commissions Act was unconstitutional.
