Hedge Fund

A hedge fund is an investment fund available to a limited type of professional or wealthy investor. It usually deals in a wide variety of investments, and pays a performance fee to its fund manager. Funds have individual investment strategies.

The name “hedge”, comes from the funds attempt to minimize risk by using a number of investment methods, such as derivatives and short selling.
